It wouldn't surprise me if turn-out was very low as more and more people are peed off with the MPs who are only out to line their own pockets with no regard to helping their constituents.

I'm holding off betting on the turnout this time round.

Whilst many people remain very angry (although many still seem to think their own constituency MP does a good job, its just the others who are on the take), I don't think it is clear cut what form their anger will take: will it be apathy, or will it be an explosion in voting for smaller parties/independents? Might UKIP, Veritas and the BNP do much better (even though their elected representatives have an even worse record of expenses fraud!) and maybe the Greens and Socialists, depending on the constituency. Might there be more independents standing on anti-corruption Martin Bell style tickets? The Jury Team is an interesting development, that could gain traction and votes.

There's also the the Presidential style debates to consider between the main parties' leaders. This might have a positive impact on voting turnout.

I wouldn't be surprised if turnout dropped, but I wouldn't be surprised if it increased either. Therefore I'm keeping well away from the betting markets on this one.

3/1 on Bob Spink retaining his seat looks very, very good value locally, though, if you fancy a flutter. He's got something on Essex County Council that he's going to reveal soon which could well swing voters his way. I've seen the documents.

That does look like one of the more inturiguing seats and 3/1 is worth taking a closer look at. It was a safe seat when Spink held the Tory whip, with an 8000 majority over Labour.

Who are those odds with?

Should I run as an independent for Rayleigh and Wickford (Wickford now joins Rayleigh under the new boundary changes)

Would your policies include the immediate repatriation of anyone who wasn't English and the banishment of all lefties to Siberia?

I would thoroughly enjoy seeing Bob Spink lose his seat.

There'd be no one interesting remaining, just pasty faced white men in string vests and knotted hankies moaning about the weather.

Has there been a case of an elected BNP representative committing expenses fraud? I'm sure I would have heard about it on the BBC if there had been. Having said that I only watch Top Gear and Match of the Day so I might have missed it.

I'll be voting for the BNP as a protest against the other parties' refusal to have a leader with a glass eye. And the fact that I'm a racist homophobic sexist functionary of the capitalist system. And I hate the Earth.

Can't remember the details but they've racked up quite a list of misdemeanours considering how few local councillors they have!

Try Private Eye rather than the BBC for details.

I certainly wouldn't vote for them as the party to clean up politics. Neither would I vote for them as the party of Capitalism. Capitalism requires libertarian rather than authoritarian regimes.

I don't labour under any crazed notion that Nick Griffin can lead this country back to greatness. I just want the political template on immigration, law and order and national security moved rightwards, and I can't accept Cameron's green Conservatism as a genuine alternative to Brown's cronies.
