Yes, opinion seems to be split about Gilbert & Kalala - both have been too inconsistent for me to mind too much if they stay ... or go. Having said that that partly depends upon what other players are brought in - I do think that having the 'core' of a squad as settled players does help - particlarly early on in the season ...... however, as we saw with Swindon & Crewe, sometimes it is the team that finishes strongly that is more important.

Kalala is important to a promotion push next season. Does so much breaking up of play and protecting of the back four.

Gilbert....Meh

Goalkeeper, central midfielder (if Kalala isn't staying) and Eastwood and we're set, I'd have said.

I would say so - perhaps even two midfielders if Kalala isn't staying (could be a matter of quite how well he is recovering).

And then Sturrock usually unearths 1 or 2 players on trial (such as Leonard) so it wouldn't be a surprise if there was the odd player joining close to the start of the season ............

Guessing that will be Smith and maybe Donnelly. Interesting to see if we still go for Cresswell and what that means for Barker. Could mean he will not be guaranteed a starting place like he was last season.

Would love to get him back.

That. Yep - putting the rose coloured glasses to one side, I reckon he could well add a touch of class that we needed at times last season. Can't stand the idea of him lining up for Chesterfield against us next season.
