So..450 days have passed since full planning was obtained yet not one single brick has been laid,Maybe the recession played a major role BUT if true why add to the cost by including the casino? The council will eventually get peed off as FF becomes larger and larger..Or is it all one cunning plan?

If the council grant approval for the casino..what next..maybe an underground bunker? At some stage the council will say NO .

I was under the impression previous plans were tailored to give the manager millions to compete at the higher end of football..Why keep on changing plans? With 2 casinos already in town will the council grant a third one?

Would not shock me if the entire thing is never built or RM sells the plans/land on to someone else.

last i heard rm was confirming works would start mid august for deffinate. however being 8th october i am yet to see anything. either do it or scrap it. bit boring now.

Agreed

Still at least the firm conducting the plans/drawings must be on decent money...Hmmmmm.

Bit like the Summer of 1939, It dragged on and on, and I was like yeah whatever, just invade Poland or don't bother. BORING!

Hang on... on one thread you're dead set against the new ground cos you think it will be far too big and suggest its deliberately too big to generate extra money for RM.. and now you're complaining about delays in starting it and think RM has a cunning plan to never build it anyway.
Living up north for a long time may have seriously reduced my IQ but you appear to believe two conflicting conspiracy theories at the same time:dizzy:

I thought it all hung on Ron buying the land Prospects is on so the whole area can be sold to Sainsbury's to fund the new stadium. If they don't sell, the new stadium won't get built.

Not at all,
Once plans were passed by the goverment some of us expected some work to actually begin?I cannot understand why anyone would keep changing the plans thus adding more cost and further delay to the project,If the ground is 22k i will still attend. The size IMO is too big but what the hell.

The entire project is turning into a mini town so how far does RM wish to go before work begins? If the council aprove the casino what next?Maybe a large boozer/restaurant then the plans all hinge on that being approved.

I never did quite get the casino thing. Both casino's already here are struggling and have been hit badly by punters playing more online and now on the T.V. in the comfort of their own home, and of course the current climate.
Also the other income from the business is their bars and restaurants in those casino's that have also been badly hit. As a result, both casino's have laid off over a third of their staff from management downwards.

I know this because my wife was an Inspector/Croupier in one of those casino's, and has been made redundant a few months back.

So to now have a Third casino in this Town is absolutely crazy and very bad timing. I'm sure that the people behind the incoming casino have no idea that they will almost definately be running at a loss untill things change and people have more spare cash and the bigger punters come back.

Amending plans is fairly standard. I'd rather the plans were amended and fine-tuned than build something that wasn't quite what we wanted/needed. If we can change it to add more value than why not? Don't rush into something for short-term gain at expense of the long-term.

I still have my doubts about RM's ability to deliver, but that is a separate issue.

To be honest I am kind of lost now with the whole issue...I am sure there is more going on than revealed. But it seems to be turning into alot of "Spin" at the moment..One day one thing the next day a contradiction.:dizzy:

I'm led to believe the Casino and Morrisons are to be a part of the retail aspect, so they are not making the project any bigger at all, however because their inclusion its a "change of use" aspect (the reason for the planning recall) .. though of course i don't spose anything will convince cold/unhappy Morecambe fans that this is anything but a conspiracy theory

In fairness the FF project has been on the go for nearly 10 years meaning if those in power still wish to tinker with plans shows they are not sure themselves IMO.When ex chairman John Main stated "FF will never be built".Will JM be proved correct?

To date the club have spent around 1 million pounds on the project,Personally i would have rather gave the cash to Tilly to obtain better players..But thats another story.

Vic Jobson first came up with detailed plans of this project in 1985/6. From what I remember tho, it was just for a stadium and not 'swamped' with the 'enabling' paraphernalia RM is going for.
