Sorry for the delayed response, Bearded - but I am sad to report that he's showing a little bit of indifference to what is quickly becoming a situation of grave concern. He's more interested in warming his butt on the lounge radiator or sitting Sphinx-like in front of the log-burner when it's in full flow. These are troubling times indeed and I'm running out of ideas as to how to motivate him to be focused on the lads' fortunes again.

Maybe he needs a good woman in his life Rob?

A pleasing change of tactics today … I was on painting duty so had the radio on upstairs in the bathroom (where I was painting) until I finished the bare minimum that I could get away with. It was four thirty and it sounded like ours was the only goal-less game on in the League. Came downstairs to the lounge and decided to put my feet up and watch Final Score. Chick's been a bit needy lately, mewing to us when we're not downstairs attending to the fire and his other wants. Anyway, he comes off his perch off the top of the other sofa and plonks himself on my lap. Promising, I thought. Then Shooey The Wonder Cat's over too and on the chair-arm at my side of the sofa. And next, yes you guessed right … at the bottom of the screen these wonderful words and figures pop up: 'GOAL Oxford 0 Southend 1 Kightly 79.' A quiet fist pump so as not to disturb our lucky Chick and then hanging on until our result is declared 'FT Oxford 0 Southend 1 Kightly 79.' One of the last FTs to be declared so a bit of angst but a hugely needed three points. Conclusion: Chick is like Simon Cox and needs a twin striker in Shooey The Wonder Cat (pictured).

Chicken you are a star - it's not easy being a Blues supporter and not the greatest time at the moment but pleased you have recruited a new follower, the very handsome Shooey,

Shooey's quite a character in himself, Chris, and delighted that he's doing his bit now as it's a tall order leaving it all for Chick to do at this stage of the season with games coming fast and furious with little rest time on the sofa in between. Anyway, here they both are warming up for that difficult game at the Ricoh tomorrow.

A great looking team Rob, not just on paper but on the settee even! I have every hope that they will combine well tomorrow.

Fingers crossed, irenbird! I just hope Shooey's not left it on the training pitch this week as he had a right old tear-up with a young pretender on the block yesterday which ended up in him Shooe-ing him off the Fort Nox boundaries without any semblance of diplomacy. Mrs Nox told me that Shooe even passed urine over the interloper. Astonishing, but true.

Great photo Rob, thanks. Shooey sounds like he has that little extra bit of determination so often missing from the team recently. We have had some good duos over the years, Best and Garner, Tilly and Brush to name just a couple. Good to see Chicken looking well too.

Lovely pic Rob of them, and nice to see them linking up well in their down time as well :-)
Think we will need them both to be involved today at the Ricoh, but have total faith in Chick & Shooey to keep our away run going x

Lovely pic but where were they during the game? Ho hum...
(I’ve just signed up as a cat socialiser.... excited!)

Apologies to you all - it's my fault today as I couldn't supervise the boys. I had to go to the (belated) Xmas 'do' for the radio station that I do a turn for and it was during match time. I will decline any further invitations to be sociable on Saturday afternoons when my helmsmanship in herding cats is required.

Hi Rob, hope that you are all set to ensure that Chick & Shooey are getting warmed up and in their rightful positions this afternoon against the Gills :-)

Well done Chick & Shooey. Cox might be our fox in the box but we get invaluable help from our loafers on the sofa.

I took a diabolical liberty with The Gods Of Football, Roxy, by abandoning my intention of stewarding the boys. They were warmed on the sofa and Mrs Nox was under strict instruction to keep the home fire burning for them before I left Fort Nox circa 3.40 p.m. (unaware of the score) for a much-needed walk into Newlyn along the prom from PZ. From 'The Fisherman's Arms,' I checked in with Grumpy Blue circa 5 p.m. who texted me the good news. Sounds like I missed a cracking denouement!

Top work again, Rob.

That play-off surge is definitely on with three home games in the next four to come.

Chicken and Shooey need to maintain their high performance levels this month, but there's every faith they will!:Worthy:

One game at a time, Andy, but they're definitely resting well between games and with the rest this w/e too, I'm hoping that they'll be raring to go against Pompey next week.
