Great start to the season with two League wins but how good is it?

Since 1920 we have acheived this feat 14 times in:

1922-23, 1927-28, 1929-30, 1931-32, 1952-53, 1955-56, 1957-58, 1967-68, 1969-70, 1974-75, 1979-80, 1980-81, 1990-91 and the last one 13 years ago 1998-99.

In 1980-81 we went on to win the League, in 1990-91 we finished 2nd and 1931-32 we finished 3rd but if you average out the league placings its only tenth place.

The best start of the 14 was 1957-58 with a 5-0 win at Exeter and a 5-2 home win over Norwich and this was followed by a 6-0 in the third match.

So the question is were to from here of the 14 seasons we went on to win the next match on 7 occassions, three were drawn and four lost. lets see what happens at Crawley on Tuesday?

Accy hadn't lost at home since January in the league either.

Money on Blues tomorrow I think.

That sounds very Spurs like.

Not sure I'll be betting myself, but I do think we're quite big at 9/2 to win on Tuesday night (Crawley best priced 8/11)

SUFC to go all Ray Winstone circa 1979 and show new boys Crawley who's the Daddy Round Here.
