Possibly... Banger is being a complete passenger at the moment. Whilst the side is winning, that's fine; but once the chips are down and we begin to look critically at his performance, then unless he bucks up then his days are numbered.

The accusation is, essentially, that he has been "found out" at Test level... that his ability is all about hand-eye coordination rather than technique; and that he will always therefore be susceptible to genuine pace.

We'll see. But he's long overdue a big Test score, no question.

Hey ho. Here's to (hopefully) a series win in the WIndies; then we can concentrate on the rather sterner Test that the Black Caps will pose this summer. The cricket world is upside down at the moment... The Kiwis are thrashing the Proteas by 9 wickets in NZ, and we're thrashing the Windies in their back yard. All very bizarre...

The same thing happened to Tres down under last year. They won't change a winning team unless the have to.In which case stick Butch in with Vaughan and bring Collingwood in at number 5 ??
One change that could be made is give Norah Batty a go. I know Giles got some crutial runs on Sunday but the Windies are loving his bowling !

Nah.  Batty's officially bobbins.  You heard it here first.  Saw him in the C&G final last year, and he was the only bowler off whom Worcs made any runs.

Yes, you're right. Which makes it even worse. Worcs went down in flames in the C&G final, because Gloucs bowled them out cheaply, and then slapped the Worcs attack all over the park in 20.2 overs - Batty included.
