It is with great pleasure to announce that a new junior Shrimper has entered the world!

Joshua Taylor Clark was born last Thursday 5th July at 4.39am weighing in at 7lb 8oz.

As you can imagine I am over the moon and cannot wait to introduce him to the wonderful world of Southend United FC! Chief Stockport Shrimper (Grandad) is very proud as his SUFC supporting tradition will be carried on to another generation.

Awaiting delivery from the club shop with SUFC baby merchandise!

Any tips on how to get a baby down at night and not have him awake until 3.30am like this morning would be greatly received!

my name is josh clark too!!!!

congratulations on your well named son :D

Congratulations mate, to you & your good lady.
You've bucked the trend by producing a male Shrimper!

In terms of your question, he's a bit little for that yet, the first couple of months will be like that, keep plugging away & eventually you'll get (or at least should) him sleeping through!

Upmost congratulations to you and your FAMILY.

Congratulations mate. My only tip for getting a baby to sleep through is to get him into his own bed and room as soon as poss. Our son kept us up for months while he was in with us but that all changed when he had his own space....

If we all keep having kids we can keep this club afloat for another century!

Congratulations.

As to tips to sleeping, you basically have no control whatsoever in the early days and just have to put up with his needs.

It does get better as you go on, lots of people say around 3 months they can go through, my 4 year old didnt go through until over a year.

Best advice is routine, get into one as soon as possible, bath, feed then bed. It doesnt really make much difference in the first month but after a while it does help and sooner you get into one the better.

Our 7 week old boy is still waking every 2-4 hours during the night so you arent alone!

Good Luck !

When his SUFC stuff comes through he will look like little Jam_Boy here :
