TBH not bothered about information from the Chairman, if the club is properly run, there should be no need for the Chairman to engage with the fans. If we are sustainable, stable and honest, then everything else is almost irrelevant.

What has gone and what will come is as regular as the ebb and flow of the tide. Good days, bad days. Content squad, unhappy squad. Over the hill journeymen picking the clubs pocket for a final payday and rising stars that will help balance the books.

There is a formula for success but like any cocktail it will lift you briefly and then dump you back down again. The perfect combination of chairman, manager, back room staff and players, is a dream every club has. Look at the most successful clubs in England and you will see, over the years, a feast and famine when it comes to achieving.

Lower league football has more constraints, often financial, when it comes to getting all the building blocks in place. It really is a wing and a prayer situation that is judged and criticised with the benefit of hindsight.

The average fan, or even Stan, have only a few of the facts to hand and that leads to ill informed conclusions.

The Titanic may have hit a F off big ice cube but there were a lot of factors involved that put the ship on the oceans bottom. I bet there were many, even in the crew, that pointed fingers and were sure they knew better. Had they been in charge it may well have still sunk.
This year, barring an unexpected twist, has been our turn to hit the iceberg. Two clubs have to go down, why not us? Down but not out!

To be honest all I want to see is 100% effort from any player , I can forgive mistakes on the pitch and even off it but laziness is unforgivable.

Ive got to say I think this would work better if you had to rank them in order of priority. Otherwise everyone could put 10 for everything and the data is meaningless and totally unachievable for a club of our size.

For clubs of our size and budget we have to take the odd gamble on a 30-something player every now and then because having experience in the side in the right areas can make a big difference to results. But you wouldn’t want a whole side at that age.

Similarly for every Freddy Eastwood there’s a Brandon Goodship. Non league gems can be cracking signings but they can also be woeful. The same can be said for loan signings.

We need a balanced squad with sprinklings of all these things. Our squad was huge this season but woefully unbalanced. We had midfielders coming out of our ears but no one who could hit a barn door.
