The Jam come from Woking – Paul Weller, Rick Buckler & Bruce Foxton & in 1982 released a single called “A town called Malice” that is about Woking …….

“Struggle after struggle
Year after year
The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice
I'm almost stone cold dead
In a town called Malice”

Other songs from 1982 include Come on Eileen, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Golden Brown, The Look of Love & Young Guns (Go For It).

Southend United players at the time included Paul Clark, Garry Nelson & Steve Phillips.

I have added a poll so that we can guage the level of Shrimperzone interest in Woking & The Jam before the match this weekend.

Paul Wellers favorite album is 'Odessey & Oracle' by The Zombies , with Colin Blunstone being one of his favorite singers .

If my old memory serves me right it was one of only select few that went straight in at number 1🤔
