Team news to follow......

Can the mighty blues make it a great end to the year or will Beattie's Stanley cause Southend sorrow?

Hoping our apparent extra fitness this season will see us win a tough fixture. The Accrington pitch has improved but not much and it will take the energy out of the legs today. Wind has dropped though and Southend should be full of confidence after winning points whilst not playing at their best. Home advantage is crucial in these sort of matches and Accrington are probably lower in the table than they should be.
Our goal threat needs to improve too.

@SUFCRootsHall: TEAM NEWS: Bentley; White, Prosser, Phillips, Coker; Atkinson, Leonard, Timlin; Hurst, Woodrow, Straker. #ACCvBLUES

@SUFCRootsHall: TEAM NEWS: Subs are Smith, Thompson, Clifford, Laird, Eastwood, Corr, Payne. #ACCvBLUES

Hmmmm. Corr maybe needs a rest but a worrying lack of firepower IMO

Why Straker though? He's been very poor the last 3 or 4 games and Laird or Clifford would be better options for me in the middle, putting Timlin out wide.

Let hope we don't need them at all, unless the players on the field is tired and need a rest after 70 minutes to use the sun. If we are 1-0 or 2-0 down after 45 minute then change!!

Thought we were playing yesterday ha. Didn't realise until then that it was today.

Most of top 8 playing Vs each others, so a good win at Accrington could move us at least 2 place higher.

Should be an interesting commentary on BP. Sounds like someone making the same noises my old dog did when he was trying to bring up grass he'd eaten.

Here's to not letting the opposition score an early goal - in fact here's to not letting them score at all!
