We had an option to keep him for one year in any case so this is not exactly a contract extension. It was reported that we were looking to really extend his contract beyond next season, but that obviously has not happened

Decent player, still young and will only get better.

Probably at fault for the goal on Tuesday though.

I think we need much better quality than Adam Thompson if we are to progress next season. We never look steady at the back with him in the team. IMO he dives in and commits himself too often as was highlighted by the winning goal on Tuesday.

This is good news, Thompson is a decent defender. If we are to progress I think we need a No1 Defender, with Barrett & Thompson competing for the other spot, and a 4th choice CB (maybe a youth player).
