For the 6 month period Jan 1 2004 to June 1 2004, Southend were involved in 2 new registrations/transfers; 1 updated contract and 5 loans (8 transactions). Not one of these elicited a payment to an agent.

That contrasts with:

Orient (12), who paid £2,500
Cheltenham (13), who paid £2,000
Hull (18)- £4,000
Macclesfield (20)- £5,000
Huddersfield (13)- £10,000

and Swansea (19), a massive £17,580

Divisional total: £41,080

Compare this with Derby, who paid £279,000 to agents last season and West Ham, £243,500 and Wigan £!45,000

Not one other club in the League (Prem excluded) paid more than £100,000 to agents
