Alan (now aged 87) this eve with a copy of the match programme from his 1958 Roots Hall debut that we (SUEPA) sent him as a little surprise, he was quite thrilled according to his grandson.

When I was a kid in the 60s in Essex I played in a junior team and they had Alan over for a chat/training. Vague memories but I thought he played for Blackpool at the time, would have been around ‘68. Anyway, you are looking really well Alan.
