He'll be lucky to play professionally again... An absolutely horrific injury. Broken Leg and Dislocated Ankle, Freguson says its the worst injury he's even seen in Football, which must go some way to beat David Busst's injury.

Ronaldo walked over, looked at his leg and had to look away...

Heard the commentary for it on the radio, sounds like an horrific injury.

Get well soon Alan - I hope your playing days are not over.

His ankle just seemed to collapse under hit when he tried to charge down a free-kick.

Not a Manure fan, but no one wants to see a player with that sort of injury. Early reports say he'll be out for nine months...

Jay Smith, Henrik Larssen, Graham Le Saux all overcame terrible injuries, let's hope Smithy does too.

After seeing Busst, Cisse and Larsson, I think this was the worst of the lot...

Absolutely horrific - Busst was bad, terrible infact - probably due to the compound fracture and all the blood (remember Schmeichel running away with a towel on his head?!) - but this was just gross.

Broken fibula, tibula AND dislocated ankle - you can only imagine the pain and credit Smithy for not passing out!!

I would doubt if he can play on again - especially as the break was so close to the dislocated ankle - the bottom half of his leg will be severly weakened even if it sets ok...

Poor lad, I used to think he was superb at Leeds and the move to Man U hasnt really worked out (especially when Giggs gets in as a holding midfielder infront of you!).

Get well soon Smithy...

I didn't see it and to be honest I'm glad I didn't!
I can be a bit squeamish....

Schmeichel was throwing up in the goal mouth after Busst's injury...

He's dived to block a shot from Risse, the balls hit his right leg setting him off balance and then he's fallen awkwardly on his left leg, breaking the bone and sending the ankle joint in about 4 different positions at once.
They say even if he does play again he'll be lucky if its the start of the 2007-2008 season, Solksjaer-esque injury.

Not good enough for the Prem anymore, how about playing for new Championship side, Southend United?!?!?!
