An eventful day for sure, allegedly some spoon went walkabout in the fast lane on the M25 (not for long i'm sure you appreciate) and the ensuing congestion meant a lovely detour up the M40 to Wycombe, a short hop over to the M4 westbound towards Reading, through Bracknell and onto the M3 back North to Aldersh!t .. we did well to make it in a shade over 3 and a half hours actually and arrived in time for a couple of pints and a JD pre kick off

Stewards reading from 2 different rule books, tannoy announcers reading from 2 rule books, 2 teams playing to different rule books and an oh too swift abandonment

The joys of life as a Shrimper :dizzy:

Lee, I'm hoping this isn't what I think......if it is, maybe you'd like to rethink?

What a fiasco! How can the same match be abandoned 3 times? I took my grandchildren to their first away match and that pathetic bunch of amateurs can't even host a match to its end. Feeble!

I would advise that all Blues fans who travelled to the game contact the Aldershot secretary, Mr Bob Green on bgreen@theshots.co.uk requesting a refund of their tickets and compensation for the cost of travelling due to the failure of Aldershot to maintain their foodlights properly in accordance with the Football League regulations. Whilst writing, I suggest you copy in the Football League at enquiries@football-league.co.uk for their information. If 800 or so fans did this, at the very least we would be displaying our feelings and anger at what has been a wasted day at such a busy time of the year.

Oh and some got a telling off for "hand gestures"

Anyone else have all the stubs torn off their tickets as they entered today. How would they know I had an adult ticket then? Also while we're at it WHY!! were some of the Shrimpers who paid on the day handed Adlershot tickets v Shrewsbury played on the 10th of December?
I must be really thick because I don't know why a league club would do this, how would you get your money back too for the Southend game?
There must be an easy answer to these questions?

Alright Wino me and my mate received Aldershot vs Shrewsbury tickets Ive emailed both the club secretary and the club enquiries Ive also left a voice message on the answer phone. I have asked them if this will be valid for the rearranged fixture and also asked why were tickets for a previous game being issued in the first place.
I have also expressed my anger at the fact the club knew about the floodlight fault in the first half and nothing was done about it. Dean Holdsworth said in his post match interview that there was dialogue between the 4th official and the safety officer.

Also if you had your ticket stub taken from you by the "more than my jobs worth" stewards - where does that leave you?

I had to escort Jacks back to her place second half and they only let her back after I explained she was a bit senile and wasn't sure what she was doing.:smiles:

I blame it on all the "Mullered Wine" she drank over Christmas.

I would suggest that those who ran coaches today provide lists of named supporters if there is any doubt concerning wrongly issued tickets. Absolutely amazed that in this day and age, a Football League side can so monumentally **** up.

The whole aldersh!t set up is nothing better than you would find in the blue square south.
A few questions???

How would a disabled away fan enter the ground (as there are around 40 steps through the park behind the away end)
2 turnstyles and no option to pay by card
1 yes '1' male portaloo toilet behind the away end
No catering unit in the ground for away supporters just a burger trailer.
A tannoy that was inaudiable imagine there was an important announcement to make say the game is to be abandoned for example
Floodlights that clearly were on the blink throuought the 1st half as they kept coming on and going off again.

Now call me a glass half full type of person but had Alder**** been 1-0 im sure it wouldnt have taken 8 mins to call the game off after half time.. my point being every effort would have been made to get it on and time would have been allowed. ( I remember a game on sky a Palace game some years ago when they went out 3 times and the ref waited for ages before completing the game).
Also how comes no tannoy announcements were made for the electrician in the 1st half when clearly there was a problem with the lights? Why wait till half time????
Hmmmm dodgy springs to mind!
The alder**** fans were giving the ref a hard time as he was their enemy number one but i tend to think they should all have a rethink and realise he was a great help to them today by calling it off with an early desicion.
Rant over i want my money back and compensation for the 3 hour journey it took to get to the **** hole!

Not everyone goes on the coach.

I purchased mine at Roots Hall on my season ticket numbers so at least I have that proof of purchase for a adult ticket. In all my away games I have never seen such a shambles !!

:nope:
