Taking the best XI theory one stage further, I wouldn't mind seeing this lot represnting Essex.

Graham Gooch
Mark Waugh
Keith Fletcher (c)
Andy Flower (w)
Ronnie Irani
Barry Knight
Keith Boyce
Derek Pringle
Stuart Turner
Ray East
John Lever

Mark Waugh just got the vote over Ken McEwan & Stewie Law, simply because he opened a lot in one dayers for the convicts, was a good off spinner and brilliant in the field. Barry Knight was an outstanding all rounder in his era, and the start of one day cricket. Keith Boyce was just outstanding, quick, a batsman who could hit it miles, and great in the outfield. Turner just edged Gough, and I think all the others pick themselves.
