No play-off excitement with the Blues this year but plenty of thrills and stress in the French League 1. A win tonight for Toulouse Football Club (tfc) at Angers (Bilel's old club) will ensure tfc of League 1 football next season and provide the GREAT escape...........anything else and we have to rely on the results of Rheims and Ajaccio. ALLEZ TFC!!!!

A depression over Saint Gaudens. :'( Tfc go behind at Angers..........then are awarded a penalty which the 'Danish Yorkshireman' Martin Braithwaite rushed and skied over the bar. Disaster that Rheims have taken the lead against Lyon even if Lorient lead 1-0 against Ajaccio.............tfc, at the moment, are back again in the relegation zone. 45 minutes + left.

Quite a few years old but just right for tonight!

QUI NE SAUTE PAS N'EST PAS TOULOUSAIN! QUI NE SAUTE PAS N'EST PAS TOULOUSAIN! QUI NE SAUTE PAS N'EST PAS TOULOUSAIN!!!!!

WHAT A NIGHT..........can't keep on having end of seasons like this! Tfc equalised in the 60th minute to give us hope, only for those hopes to be dashed four minutes later, when Angers substitute, with virtually his first touch of the ball, lobbed the tfc keeper to give Angers back the lead. In the 78th minute Braithwaite, who missed the penalty, brings tfc back level. Two minutes later the young tfc substitute converts an incredible free-kick to give them the lead and tfc hang on to maintain their place in League One. Great scenes from the 2200 supporters, who made the 642km trip up from Toulouse.

Well it wasn't quite up there with the play-off Final at Wembley last year but bloody hell, it was thrilling! Dupraz arrived as manager of tfc when they appeared already doomed to relegation at the start of March. Yet, miraculously he turned things around in the final ten minutes of the last game of the season. A game of incredible twists and turns and great goals. The final winning free kick by the young Yann Bodiger was, I believe, his first professional goal. One he'll no doubt remember!
