users of this site, myself included, have been warned that they are illegally downloading from this site.
The legal vultures have been quick to wag fingers and tell us they could pursue customers, children and old grannies  for downloading Max Bygraves etc. This is not true.
the BPI state;-
Despite media speculation that the BPI would move to take action against users of the illegal website, Groome said “We are going to sue AllofMP3.com in the UK courts – we are going to seek a judgment not against the users of the site, but against the site itself.”

The press about this site in terms of pursuing customers of course is sensationalist. however if you currently use the site, now that the press has publicly declared it illegal you would be considered naive should you continue to use this site. Much as downloaders who use P2P have been told.

I have been asking for confimation on its legality for months and there was no clear indication.
I hope my e-mails to the BPI weren't the cause of them deciding to sue Allofmp3 or issue that warning this week.

damn thought it seemed too good to be true, and their alltunes software is ace!

I think I'll just have to "nievely" carry on using the site oblivious to the news.

Me too - how on earth are users supposed to know about the legality of the site? It's not like it's kiddie porn.

Apparantly there's a notice on the site declaring that it's perfectly legal within Russian law...

I would use Itunes etc but I think the prices are a ripoff compared to American prices.

Only a year ago allofmp3 seemed to have been given the green light. bbc news
