And who says the Daily Mail dosnt have a sense of humor

The Daily Hate Mail doesn't have a sense of humour and it doesn't know when it is being used.

That story will have been planted to show the Tories' "softer" side and is a deliberate attempt to reach out for those who voted for "New" Labour under Blair but felt let down by their unfulfilled promises. They are trying to show Cameron mellowing and rejecting any Thatcherite past under Samantha's influence and is an extension of the "I've never voted Tory before but" campaign. That is the demographic they are trying to reach in the medium English towns and their hinterlands, because the Tories need to win the centre ground rather than preach to the converted.

Absolutely - it's hard to think of many recent candidates / high profile mp's who haven't used their spouse as an extension of the personality they'd like to be.
