This snippet from the Queen of the South site

The Queen's Club Shop produced a special edition mug last summer and on it were four true Queens greats, Allan Ball, Roy Henderson, Jim Patterson and Andy Thomson and no one who witnessed the first spell of Andy at Palmerston could ever argue with that. We are now honoured with the return of the man whose transfer to Southend to future England manager Peter Taylor for £250,000 helped in no small way to construct the East Stand at Palmerston.

His return in January combined with some crucial goals during the 'great escape' only served to underline the value that the man has to the Queens support.
