Question Any Questions?

I bought Shares in SUFC some time ago - how many shares are not owned by Ron and what influence can we have? Has there ever been an AGM? if one person got hold of all these shares what are the consequences, seat on the board?

Tha
I believe it's my responsibility as a former player with a profile, contacts, 30 years in the sport to offer help.

So from July I've communicated with Ron and Tom giving them ideas, my preferred role at the club if they want something more tangible, problems in the club, and yes, names of new managers should the club move away from Phil Brown and Co.

Names are excellent and like Tom Lawrence would pay the club back 5 fold in the coming seasons.

I want a role, I know my strengths and they are to facilitate the change of Southend United Football Club from shambles yo shining light.

I am prepared to do this transparently, speedily, backed by industry pros that Championship clubs would be delighted to have on their side, and with Southend United, and Southend United alone at heart.
Thanks Stan, glad to hear you’ve been trying to help since July after things went wrong earlier in the year. Up the blues

I heard your radio interview and your passion for the Blues is not in doubt. I agree with your assessment about RM and he has had his head turned by 'so called' football elder statement (ol 'arry for one) and he needs a reality check. To stay up in this league is achieveable with the right manager and coach. RM is not leaving anytime soon, he has far too much at personal stake in to make that worse, is within touching distance. I think the Club needs better footballing direction and PR to the wider football world. We are on the edge of London with a over a dozen premiership and championship clubs on our doorstep. It worked for you as it will work for others to come, it needs the right set up here and it is not right now.

Stan , we have had several managers in the past 5 years , some of which have been fantastic on paper with their catalogue of trophies and international honors - what makes your contacts stand out against these managers and what will they do differently ?

Ladies and Gentlemen, any questions you have about my involvement since summer, the club moving forward please fire away.

Stan.
Will you be putting in another bid for the club I don’t see what a new manager can do with Ron Martin as owner we have seen this with the managers we had in the past we are going backwards not forwards

I am glad you are helping us, you have my 100% backing, please ignore peoples that like an good wind up, they are not worthy of your breath.

I noticed that Bromley, Woking, Dagenham and Boreham Wood have good young manager who know the league and signing right players in, their players have less abilities than our players, but they played with their heart and soul on the pitch and give everything. We have no HEART ❤️ at all.

So glad you did what you did today. I am 100 per cent behind you. Just. Please make the plan feasible and keep talking. Also please don't walk away now, we need you more than ever. Deliver a team we can be proud of and people who know what they are doing for a change and rescue the current shipwreck that has been created. Totally behind you.

How important do you think it is that the next manager knows his way round the National League and has a track record at this level?

Stan, not a question rather a vote of confidence in you. You have my backing 100%...this should have happened in the summer if not earlier, let's hope that Ron's eyes are now fully open and he sees what you, me and countless others have for sometime now.
If I'd have been involved ( truthfully, Ron and I get on very well, but he thinks I'm a maverick, and he's right. But a maverick with the best contacts book in the sport who will clear away the stench of failure from a club I hold dear. Don't be afraid of a maverick, be afraid of the status quo, a losers mentality and people in it for themselves), Southend United woukd get

1. First dibs on U-23 players from around the country. I took the liberty of contacting Liverpool,, Forest, Barry Fry, Leicester amongst 30 other clubs. Every one of those clubs said they wanted to work with me where they could. I hope that gives the tiniest flavour of what I can bring.

2. Employees with integrity. A United club.

3. Working with players ( where a manager feels it's appropriate), especially forwards, to show them the tricks of the trade, tell them how good they are and have me available 24/7 to help them along.

4. Meeting parents of quality young Essex talent and telling them Southend United is the club where their son can see a pathway to the pro game. Stan Collymore turning up at a kid's home has gravitas. Real gravitas.

5. Meeting and communicating with supporters regularly. Showing them the work we are doing and why that should make them content with the direction of the club.

6. Creating a clear club wide strategy that is simple, cost effective, promotes talent from within and spreads our net wide to bring the best talent in ( coaching, development, financial, directors) to a progressive football club.

7. Travelling with the team everywhere to support the manager, travelling staff and players, an identifiable totem of SUCCESS at Southend United.

8. Having an up to date managerial hit list that fits in with our ethos, values and playing style ( which we must have) in order to be proactive in coaching and management employment, not reactive. This alone will get us great coaches and managers way ahead of the opposition.
Amongst about 50 other tangible things that can be done yesterday if given the remit.

What do you think about our recruitment this season?
I gave an extensive post Eastleigh summary to Ron and Tom.

Strengths, weaknesses, a system that would get the best out of the current staff, reasons why backed up with statistics and understanding of the players having watched them many times now( video).

There is a core I believe that can be built around but everyone should have an opportunity and a clean slate under a new manager. That's none of my business, but if invited I could work with individuals to make them better but only if invited.

I would sack the current recruitment and scouting staff.

Stan , we have had several managers in the past 5 years , some of which have been fantastic on paper with their catalogue of trophies and international honors - what makes your contacts stand out against these managers and what will they do differently ?

1. Identify how the team and club want to play
2. Have the best recruitment and scouting to ensure the type of player is watched and recruited.
3. Manager is employed on the basis of being able to play the way THE CLUB wants to play.
4. You then get managers who suit the club, every time.

You're right, some big names, some good managers.

But...

If manager A is long Ball, manager B is get it down and play, manager C is a "character and desire" man, manager D is all about technical play then teams are put out that are a little bit of all of them and teams which are undefined in their aim.

Southend United, the team have an undefined way of playing. If you don't believe me then I'll ask you these questions.

1. How many systems have been played in the last 5 years?

2. Can anyone tell me what the team is trying to achieve tactically on the pitch?

Design the template.
Stick to the template
The template pays you back every year.

It's painfully simple.

Have you spoken to anyone outside of the club regarding the future of the club?

You mentioned two recruitment specialists on your phone in to BBC Essex. Are these first team player recruitment specialists? Are they still available?
