I need help in promoting a future website and I would like someone to help me with Page Ranking and SEO. I get confused easily and I'm not very smart, as you can tell from some of my posts on here, but I would appreciate it a lot if someone could give me some tips/hints/advice/tutorial etc on getting my website the biggest exposure.

Sure,

Briefly you need to:

build backlinks with keyword rich anchor text
ensure your meta tags and descriptions are completed
google sitemap (xml format)
img tags
correct keyword density in title bar, headings and paragraphs

Some might seem outdated (ie meta tags), but the meta description is displayed on google results

These will get you started. Have a look at Warrior Forum, it costs about £30 to access but is worth it.
