Sad to report the demise of Mr Coleman last week; without doubt the nicest (but firmest when needed) teacher I've ever met. Last seen at a School open day a couple of years ago and still managed to name every ex-pupil he came into contact that day and provided a few anecdotes about each one.

Yep - an old Westleigh boy myself here... from Coleman's days too

I never had him myself, but he was my brother's 4th year Junior Form Teacher.

I had Mrs Dowding, Mrs Williams, Mr Quick (he of the scary glass eye!) and someone else who escapes memory at the minute...

RIP Mr Coleman

Mrs Kitto (about 102 when she taught me !!!)
Miss Rendall (later Mrs Johnson)
Mr Reeder (of Reeder Glazing family)
Mr Coleman

He told me I was a smart-arse (coz I was the only one that year to get 100% in the final mock 11 plus we used to do them every week !!!!) but I wouldn't stop mucking around in class. The only thing different now is that I'm no smart-arse.

I went to WLS between about 1983 and 1989...

Incidentally, did you know that around 1988 Mr Durham (then head of the Junior School) married Miss Ayres (then head of the Infant school)? If ever there were a better Headmaster and Headmistress than those two diamonds I'll eat Her Maj's entire hat collection.

Nope definitely Rendall -

I don't remember a Mrs Cullen unless she was infants - I only went there as a junior. Now seeing as I left there in 1978 I assume you are a year younger than me.

When we were at school Mr Kitson was headmaster and a fine example he was too. Unsurprisingly enough I wasn't a model pupil so I got to see him more than most.

Mr Durham was there by the time my brother went to school.
