If anyones at a loose end for tomorrow afternoon and as a gesture of glasnost between fellow Shrimper sites we wondered if you would like to come and represent Shrimpers Zone at our SoL Day Sunday.

We've done this for a few years now and any money raised from the raffles goes to Little Havens childrens Hospice. This is not a a recruitment drive to the Dark side as there is only one ShrimperZone at number 1 but a chance to join in with the fun and games with us.
We have a lap top as top prize and a pair of gloves used and signed by Darryl plus some goodies from the Trust and c2c. So if you want to represent ShrimperZone or just celebrate being a Shrimper why not come on down.
There's a good chance you'll beat us.

P.S, Adam Barretts coming down again for the third year running to join in the fun.

Cheers SZ mods

Can't seem to register on SOL could you please give me time and place.

Woke up this morning to thunder and monsoon outside, wife says to me "well we won't be taking the twins to the teddy bears picnic later on", -no i thought, but i can think of somewhere else we could go!

From ALL Areas: Go along the A127 towards Basildon.

From Southend: When you pass the Alton Garden Centre (left), continue for about another mile (approx), then leave the A127 following the slip road for East Mayne (caution: traffic lights) keeping in the left hand lane. Take the first exit (left) onto East Mayne. Take the second exit at the first and the second roundabout (straight over). At the third roundabout, take the third exit (left) onto Whitmore Way and straight over at the mini roundabout. Then follow local map... the arrow marks the location on the map.

From M25: After picking up the A127, follow for about 9-10 miles (approx). There will be a petrol station (left), then leave the A127 on the next sliproad marked Basildon/Wickford (caution: traffic lights). You need to be in the right hand lane. Stay right through the first and second set of traffic lights, then cross to the left hand lane if possible through the third set of traffic lights and take the next exit (left). Take the second exit at the first and the second roundabout (straight over). At the third roundabout, take the third exit (left) onto Whitmore Way and straight over at the mini roundabout.
Then follow local map... the arrow marks the location on the map.

a nice time was had by all.

couple of kick abouts, basketball etc etc

adam barrett came along and chatted for a couple of hours

much beer was consumed by some

some lucky git won a laptop in the raffle.

And someone chatted aboput how proud he was seeing his chlamydias grow in his garden. Apparently he has green fingers. Which i didn't know was a symptom of it until yesterday.

Adam chatted fondly about his first match on the North Bank - the return of Judas Fry. He's one of those rare breeds, a pro footballer who's just one of the lads. Top, top lad.

Highlight of the day was some old guy from the neighbouring bowls club seeing the Southend / England banner, mistaking us for a BNP demonstration, and making a donation.
