Anyone else worried about boxing day?

Boxing Day football is just about the best day of the year to go and watch a game, I personally love it and have some great memories from previous years (Norwich away being my favourite!).

However I have a bad feeling about the Colchester game, think we could get turned over big time and it has the potential to ruin the day of course the flip side of that is if we win it will be a tremendous day. I think we struggle against bigger more physical sides and seeing as Aidey Boothroyd is their manager now I should imagine that is exactly how they will play.

Could be worse. You could be away at Brighton. What a ****ing waste of Boxing Day :(

I am truly worried, no public transport at all, this means that i cannot celebrate in the time honoured traditional way as i have to drive, ah well, get home and then get smashed i suppose. Southend 2 Ewes 0. UTB.

I feel the same, Col U are on a good run and on paper look a lot stronger than us. But Tilly has a habit of getting the players up for these games and pulling it out of the bag when we really need it. I have faith.

had a dodgy feeling about this for a long time. especially with two new people at work joining being hardcore col u fans. they are very confident.

yep, not just you thats worried. im feeling unbelievably nervous. points at stake, pride at stake, essex derby, so nervous. colchester are doing quality this season no doubt but i hate them with a passion i want a win soooo bad! it's either gonna be a upset :( or an amazing day!

Im scared! Colchester seem to be being almost not rubbish now and can even attract players like Nobby Salano :(

Very worried that the predicted snowstorm up here for thursday will make the journey a tad difficult saturday morning

1) Nobby Solano cant do better than Colchester hence he cant be much cop nowdays
2) Even if they sign him he is not going to play in 4 days time
3) Dont worry about form - Derbys can throw it all out the window
4) Stanbridge is a **** of the highest order.

I'm not too worried to be honest, I think we have a handful of players that thrive on these big games and I think we'll put in a performance. Not underestimating the scum as they have looked impressive but I've got more confidence for a game like this than most games that should be "routine".

Nobby Solano is a good player. I don't think Wet Spam should have released him when they did.

However, We can beat ManUre so we can beat ColEwe

I'm not worried as i asked Santa for a win on saturday down the shopping centre. He promised me a 2 - 0 win against Col U, as i had been a good boy this year.

Now if this does not happen, Father Christmas is no more then a commercialised con and i urge all Southend fans to kick the next Santa Claus they see very hard in the never regions...

Same goes for my life size Cheryl Cole doll

I think its natural for any football fan to worry especially when you aren't watertight at the back. However we shouldn't be feeling too inferior, we are still just about a mid table side, they are in the same league and only 9 places above us in the league pyramid and also our home record is better than their away record.

Of course its a tough game but one that we are more than capable of winning. When Laurent and Barnard are in the side, we will always have a chance.

No, TBH I'm a lot more worried about what the state of our squad will be, come the end of January. Don't get me wrong, it will hurt if we lose against the Ewes but in our present state I'm not really expecting anything.........so for me even a point will be a bonus. What will worry me, is if we have to go there on the 8th of February, in the hope perhaps of exacting revenge, with the same kind of depth and quality to select from.
