Morning all!

Not on here to cause any drama, hopefully just give a little insight into our team to make sure your a little more clued up for tomorrows game:thumbsup:

First and foremost well done on your season so far, you (Phil Brown more so) has surprised me by making you a solid playoff team. We have been beyond dreadful, but ill get to that!

If you are attending San Sixfields tomorrow couple of tips. There are no bars or pubs directly outside the ground of any quality, you have a franky and bennies, thats about it! Best tip would be edge of town a pub called the malt shovel, plenty of good ales etc and only 5 minute drive from the ground. With regards to parking, dont bother with the main car park. It takes forever to get out! There is a housing estate behind the BP garage opposite sixfields. Plenty of free parking, few minutes walk and traffic free!

Now the football.... I think we may be turning a corner to what has been a HORRIFIC season. Lowest scorers in the league, dismal performances and football, we have had 30 PLAYERS come in and out since the playoffs a sure way to balls up your season! Sadly Aidy had to go (although my neck has now recovered nicely), we probably won about 4 away games in the calender year, and he really was going a bit mental!

Chris Wilder and Alan Knill have come in and done a good job so far, shipping out the loanees, hangers on and bringing in quality up for the fight. We will probably line up in the following manner.

Duke
Mcsweeney Diamond Doumbe Robertson
Hackett Carter Ravenhill Dickenson
Connell/Marquis Sinclair

Injuries to key players have really not helped out cause, our skipper and player of last season Langemad has been out all season and probably wont play again this season, and then our stand in skipper Lee Collins has just been ruled out the rest of the season. Our keeper Duke has gone through a dodgy patch recently but generally fairly solid. Zander Diamond had a great debut and looks a real presence in both boxes. Expect Mcsweeney to get forward A LOT to help out our most creative player Chris Hackett. Our CM's generally just sit in and hold and allow the rest to do the business going forward. The top 3 all have pedigree at this level and each look much better than what we had.

After a huge home win on Saturday we need to keep the momentum going, quite fancy us to sneak a win as dont think you lot have been in the best of form recently, will go for a 2-1 victory.

Any questions feel free to ask! Any insight into your team/season would be great!

All the best, Cobblers!

What are you like at own goals? we need a scorer. Might be one of your boys as best bet!

Thats one thing we seem to of avoided.. although unbelievably our top scorer still in our squad has 2 goals! What happened to Barry Corr, thought he was a handful up the top end previously.

we specialise in losing to teams in the relegation fight, so don't worry...

however the pitch might be a bit better than some we've played on recently which will help us, so i fancy we might sneak a tight game.

Don't let his goal tally this season fool you.

Sorry to burst your bubble on this one but sadly it wont be. Remember we have Coventry playing at our place aswell so the pitch is not really starting to struggle to recover following all the rain. It was the worst it has been all season on Saturday. Hartlepool had a slow shot Duke went down to gather, it bobbled over him and hit the post!

Our star forward-ahem-plays mostly with his back to goal these days in a 4-5-1 formation.

Has that not been the case earlier in the season then? What is Eastwood like these days, im always curious with how players get on from a higher level previously. Marlon Harewood played against us on Saturday and was AWFUL!

Northampton 0 Blues 8

Corr 11,23,26,56,66,70,87,90

Magnificent display from Barry which has propelled him into super striker status,His first goal was a wonderful 70 yard volley whilst his Fifth was world class by beating every player on the pitch twice before doing 1000 keeps ups on the goal line .:nope:

Morning all, good summary from my fellow Cobbler.

The one thing that did come from our win against Hartlepool was belief returning to the crowd in the second half. Even the old buggers in the Main Stand we're giving their best vocal encouragement! We looked defensively solid, and watch out for Diamond, headed absolutely everything on Saturday. Don't think Widdowson will be dropped though cobblers, had a decent game! Connell will probably start, with our rotating forward line working well.

Think we'll nick it 2-1, a nervy game where we prevail. Good luck for the season, pray we win so I can shove it in my Southend-supporting mates' face.

Widdowson came off injured so that was the only reason I put robertson in. Hope Connell does start

Im so glad, its all bickering between fans on it! Hows your young keeper done this year? Bentley is it? Heard good things earlier in the season!

Oh we bicker plenty on here dont you worry.

Bentley has had a good season, certainly a rising star.

As you are asking as a fellow L2 fan , I can tell you he's done really well this season ( 13 clean sheets now I think ).
If a championship of Prem League team asks though , he's overrated and really quite awful :winking:
