I know Dan has already done one but had a bit of time to spare.

Southend United vs Crewe Alexandra
17/2/2009

This fixture was originally due to take place on 10th January but the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Steve Tilson has plans to keep the same starting line up from the side that beat Tranmere 2-1 at the weekend so it looks like match winner from the weekend Kevin Betsy will have to make do with a place on the bench again.

Crewe’s last 5 league results.

24/1 Northampton (A) L 5-1
27/1 Peterborough (A) L 4-2

An end-to-end affair at Gresty Road eventually swung in Southend’s favour after Anthony Grant came off the bench to score the winner two minutes from time. In a game were Ian Joyce made his Southend debut and that remains his only first team appearance for The Blues.

Ayrshire Blue’s ones to watch

Tom Pope - 6’ 3” striker 23 year old Pope is Crewe’s top scorer with 7 goals, Was in Alex’s academy as a schoolboy.

Kenny Lunt - 29 Year old Lunt spent 10 years at Crewe making over 370 appearances for the Alex scoring 35 goals, before moving to Sheffield Wednesday in 2006. Returned to Crewe on loan in November 2008.

Dennis Lawrence - 6’ 7” Lawrence on loan from Championship side Swansea City will be a dominating figure at the back for Crewe.

Great preview! 6' 7" Lawrence will be no match in the air with our 5' 9" Freedman!

We better not play long ball with Lawrence at the back

Tom Pope - 6’ 3” striker 23 year old Pope is Crewe’s top scorer with 7 goals, Was in Alex’s academy as a schoolboy.

Hmmm... Maybe someone we should be having a look at if the Alex go down?

Last 8: Crewe have won, drawn and lost exactly as many as we have, they have scored more but also conceded more
