Backroom Staff Salary Issues

Just when you start to let yourself believe things may be improving, boom. Really dissappinted for those unpaid. The quicker this housing development with 3 football stands in it is sorted the quicker he's out of the picture. Get it done and get him out.

Things will never truly improve while Ron Martin's hands are anywhere near this club unfortunately

you are joking right? the backroom staff are probably on minimum wage as it is - do you think an 'up and coming' tea lady/ticket sales receptionist or junior groundsman would jump at the chance of getting probably lower than what they are on now and with the prospect of not getting paid on time... a lot of these people can't even pay their rent/mortgage - its disgraceful.
It was a sarcastic dig at the clubs player recruitment....

i also heard that Ron, only a couple of weeks ago, asked the groundstaff to come to his house to fix a fence (knowing full well he hadn't paid their wages) and they did so without fuss - they did it because they love the club but this guy is taking the absolute ****

I am not really convinced things were improving once you strip away the social media gloss.

You have to admire his front....... the only work I would do at his house is put paving slabs down ..... and get the Rose West Stand firm to help place someone under them first!!!

Well done to those staff refusing to work. I for one back you all the way.
The custodian of our club is not operating it in an acceptable manner and hasn't done for years. Enough of the bull****, enough of the excuses. Real peoples livelihoods are being impacted here. Change needed, right now. It's time the fans voiced their displeasure at the Chairman again and showed solidarity with those being treated like ****. We are all being taken for mugs, every single one of us, fans and staff alike.

Liked by our Stan I see ;

Whilst the money ultimately comes from Ron, isn’t it the CEOs job to ensure staff are paid?

It’s an absolute disgrace and embarrassment that we are not paying the backbones of the club. Without ticket office staff and all the other departments, we wouldn’t have a football club. Someone needs to sort it out, whether that’s Ron, or Tom - this absolute basic needs to be sorted.

The CEO does the best he can with the money given to him, if Ron isn't giving us the money needed to pay the staff (which is basically what happens since the club doesn't make any profit) then there isn't much Tom can do.

What if the man at the top simply isn't providing the required funds to meet all liabilities?.....despite the insistence "group companies" are fully supportive.

This is NOT on Tom at all.

He must have a totally **** decision to make all the time as to who get's paid on time and who doesn't.

Screw being in that position.

Well the new Head of Finance is having a fun time of it at present then. Tom has been in place for over a year now and the new finance guy a couple of months.

Ron can only borrow so much on his current assets. If he is mortgaged up to the hilt and can't either get a loan on his assets or sell some land i'm not sure he would have the money to. Not that that is of any comfort to those that haven't been paid / paid late.

Saw the option of crowdfunding above. I'd be happy to donate a couple of quid if one was to get serious traction, but I already do this on everytime i go to Roots Hall. I purchase a bottle of water & burger (which i joked with the Wrexham directors that I was leaving in the sun to warm up) as well as a couple of beers before the game in the Groundsmans arms. It probably amounts to a £10 - £15 purchase every home game.
