The consolation prize for the runners up of the semi's.
No contest really!
Only 24 hours to vote in this 1, so let the voting commence!

Kevin Maher
1st Group A 75 Votes >> 35-32 Ron Pountney >> 44-43 Spencer Prior >> 41-77 Stan Collymore
(Supported by the great manor15 King Kev began his career with Tottenham Hotspur, Maher moved to Southend United on a free transfer on 23 January 1998. He quickly broke into the first team, making 18 appearances for the first-team that season. During the 1998–99 season, Maher scored his first career goal in a 1–1 draw with Rochdale. Over the next 10 years Maher was a virtual ever-present for Southend, rising to be team captain and subsequently club captain. During this time he made more than 400 appearances for the club, and captained Southend to promotion twice, from League Two to the Championship, in successive seasons including a fine display in the League 2 play-off final. Maher also captained his side to a famous victory over Manchester United in arguably the clubs most successful spell from when he lead the Blues out at the first ever cup final until the famous victory over Manchester United. In the 07-08 season he had to look elsewhere for first tem football and joined Oldham. The fans favourite scored 22 goals for the Shrimpers in over 400 appearances.)

Chris Powell
1st in Group C with 102 votes >> 35-2 Peter Butler >> 26-6 Alan Moody >> 20-83 Steve Tilson
(Supported by blues r best the attacking left back is a legend. End of really. But is he the greatest? He spent 6 years at Roots Hall in the 90's and made 248 appearances, finding the net 3 times. In six years at the club Powell made 288 first team appearances. In November 2004 a BBC poll of Southend United supporters voted Powell their all-time cult hero. One fan described him as "A very skilled, left-footed defender, who could quite possibly be considered one of the nicest men in football, a true gent." In January 1996 Powell moved to Derby County for a fee of £750,000.)

Very difficult. Chrissy Powell was great to watch, a real crowd pleaser. Kev stuck to his task theough thin and thick , despite his detractors. I vote Kev, often misunderstood by sections of the crowd who had no idea how a CM controlled a game.

Has to be Kev,purely for the way he battled through the bad times and enjoyed our success in the good times

Chris Powell a wonderful player, but not in the loyalty stakes as well as King Kevin

I'm sure Powell will be regarded more of a Charlton legend.

Unlike King Kev, another Southend United legend. Captain of the team that supplied Freddy, i never saw Kev not want that ball in the middle of the park no matter what form he was on and his measured dislike for opponents and referee's always gave him an admirable side :)

Congratulations to blues r best and Sir Chrissy Powell for finishing third
