32 years ago I went to Jersey and this weekend went back taking advantage of Southend Airport. In 1980 during our record breaking promotion season we beat Halifax 5-1 away when I was on the Island and my Dad and I found out the score standing outside a TV shop in St Helier! No such problem this time for the Plymouth match I thought. Although I could not get a decent phone signal a quick pop up to the hotel room should do the trick.

4.50 on BBC text Plymouth 0 Southend 0 - take that I thought, 4.51 on BBC Final Score Plymouth 1 Southend 0, bugger a late goal defeat. Oh well, roll on Tuesday. Full time scores on BBC Final score Plymouth 1 Southend 1, brilliant a really late equaliser from us - joy. Back to text, still 0-0!

League table now on Final score and we have got a point. Jeez, thanks BBC, managed to text home to find out real score....now if I had gone to that TV shop first - oh hold on a minute.

Without doubt the longest I've waited for the score of a Blues' match in years.

There was a problem everywhere the press service crashed so nobody was getting updates unless you were listening to commentary or actually at the game.

not as bad as being at Grimsby and thinking we'd just been promoted.....

BBC website I've been having issues with for weeks when you hit refresh and rather than updating it jumps back by 10 minutes
