As we head to Whaddon Road looking for our fourth consecutive win there, tomorrow's referee, at 25 years of age, is one of the youngest on the League List. He is Will Finnie from Luton and in his second year as a Football League referee. He coaches referees for the Bedfordshire FA.

This will be his first Southend Football League match, his only previous game being the Football League Trophy match at Roots Hall last season against Wimbledon in front of about 700 fans. That was a 3-1 win with the only caution going to the visitors.

His matches are presumably going pretty well as his matches this year have been predominantly League One games.

His 23 matches thus far this season have seen a slightly below average 64 yellow cards and 3 reds.

His only previous match at Cheltenham was the second of his League career when they beat Carlisle 2-0.

Assisting will be Kevin Howick from Abingdon, Oxfordshire and Mike Desborough, another employee of Bedfordshire FA as Referees Development Manager.
Fourth Official is Carl Brook from St Leonards, near Hastings who refereed our match at Port Vale a few weeks ago.

Still awaiting our 1st "penalty ref" :Frustrated: - nice one Mick

Don't hold your breath on that one.

Only 3 pens scored in his 23 games (I have no record of missed penalties).
2 were by away teams, 1 by home teams.

Think ANG and Sim should win us a few over a period of games. Definitely overdue!
