After their game with Blackburn on Saturday, Southend captain Ben Coker took time to sit and speak to a young Blackburn fan about dealing with type 1 diabetes and how the young fan shouldn't let it stop him reaching his goals.

Great role model

I donated to CP's charity a while back. As you say, so good that the Club are seen in a good light in the community.

He actually does quite a bit in some of the local schools as I know he has talked about this subject to some of the kids.
 
To be fair, Coker's actions were very well received by the Blackburn fans on twitter & the club, as welll as the local press.

Week in and week out, it's not often you get an opposition player go out of their way to help another fan from another club on match day & beyond.

Well done cokes, a true role model!!
