I'll start the ball rolling with Lee Chapman 1 game 1 goal a 100% goalscoring record

Guy Butters To Centre Back from Spurs.

Barry Hunter, Played for NI just after his loan spell ended (IIRC) nuff said

Barry Hunter was outstanding.

The other player I liked was Steve Harkness.
Shame we couldn't have hung on to both of those!

Richard Jobson and Stephen Kelly both stuck in the mind. Lee "The Enigma" Hodges was superb when he was on loan with us as well.

Matt

Richard Jobson was a classy defender, brought in about the time that Chipmunk was signing all and sundry in a vain attempt to avoid relegation.

Jamal Campbell Ryce

John Linford in 82/83 on loan from Ipswich. Scored in his first 3 games all away and then didn't scoer in the next three all at home. IIRC.

Has to be Guy Butters

Solid centre half and I'm certain he scored the odd goal aswell whilst at Roots Hall

Im sure both Freddy and Collymore were signed on loan initially (Collymore just to ensure his registration in time for the Saturday game) so they would both be up there.

As for loanees that we didnt sign but made an impact.....

Guy Butters was a star for us, scored 2 in his last game didnt he....went on to have a good solid, career.

Adrian Burrows, in the late 80's when I first started watching, he came on loan at same time as perennial loanee Lee Nogan and was massive influence at centre back amid the rebuilding process that preceded our automatic promotion run. Again he went on to have a solid career with Plymouth.

Lee Hodges looked a world beater and really wished we could have signed him and harnessed his undoubted, and ultimately wasted ability.

Stephen Kelly, Barry Hunter, Kevin Rapley and Richard Jobson all did good jobs for us...as did Alan Mccormack last year. Brown and Barness also did good jobs for us on loan,....

There has though been a fair few loanees that were utter *$*£ though..... Southall, Foley, Marney, Belsvik, Poric,
