I wouldn't put rocket in a sandwich at home so why have I got to pay £3 for the ****ing pleasure when I am at work in Canary Wharf?

I think there is a definite market for no frills sandwiches at £1 a go with fillings such as tinned hot-dog and tomato ketchup, no salad, no choice of bread - white sliced or **** off.

Anything you would like to see on the menu bearing in mind you have to turn a profit on £1 per unit?

Spam all day long

two slices of square reformed ham, with a slice of square cheese in between.

smoked bacon crisps on white; sugar sandwiches used to be good when I was a kid
toasted tinned potato sandwiches with a bit of tabasco

My brother does a good line in supernoodle sandwiches.

The trick is to cook the noodles without breaking up the cuboid structure.

Ham/Chicken/Cheese + Coleslaw.

Simple stuff and good at persuading you you really are getting one of your 5 a day.

How about Jam, or peanut butter or dairylea & pickle?

All winners.

If you really want to be poncy though, a toasted burger sauce sarnie will probably fly off the shelves, particularly if you target the backwards parts of the county, like romford and basildon.

And if you don't like any of those, then you can **** right off.

Kind Regards

how about they let you buy two plain squares of bread, and a packet of crisps for a quid?

Sainsbury's sell a nice slab of southern fried chicken in a bit of french stick from their hot counter in the one on Fenchurch St for £1.39.

Slightly over the £1 budget but not too far different from the sort that sandwich shops sell for £4 upwards. I add some worcester sauce and chilli flakes as I keep them in my desk drawer for adding flavour to any purchase I make.
