Considering the difficulties we had in the second half, then I tend to agree with you there!!!

Yes but Maher dont play for the goal does he, he plays it into other players

I'm not KM's biggest for (nor detractor) but Rotherham (A) this season & Cambridge (A) last season are prime examples of when his set-pieces work. Too few & far between though.

More free-kicks for Gower et al!!!!

I think people have short memories. I cannot recall one person in the last 15 years to play for SUFC who could take a perfect corner time after time after time. Has anyone actually noticed the corner slope?!! Any teams who come down struggle too, I think Beckham would struggle on that pitch to get it over every single time!

If you go to away games then you rarely see a completely failed corner by Maher. As for Mahers set pieces, he's delivery into the box is better than anyone in that team. I will agree that when he shoots directly from the free kick it is an absolute joke and Maher should definitely not be taking them ones, however swinging free-kicks there is not a better set-piece taker in the team.

Was it only me who noticed that Maher nearly scored direct from a corner on Saturday? Only a great Windass save stopped it from going in.

I have no problem with Maher taking free-kicks or corners.

Bascially - Mahers free kicks of late have lacked pace and have been far too air-lifted. But he can deliever them better than most in the squad in order to assist. Gower should be the shooter with free-kicks.

i think he needs a bit of competiton on the free kick taking fornt. Otherwise, he will lull himself into a safe free kick haven.
