Any Alan Whicker types out there? I'm off to Biarritz for a few days soon but I know absolutely nothing about the place!
Any hints/tips/advice on where to go (or not)?

Thanks.

don't drink the water or eat the food, don't talk to the locals, they're french and therefore c%&ts, oh and don't go!!

Biartitz is quite nice, probably very warm as well, went there abut 4 years ago and it was lovely. Watch out though, as the sea is salty!

I think they might disagree because they consider themselves as Basque ... although they probably think much the same about you ...

I'll try and be a bit more helpful that Mr Xenophobia above.

You've missed the surfing festival by about six weeks; one of the biggest in the world and it attracts all the top surfers from around the globe. Excellent time but pointless telling you all about it now!

Try "Cafe de Paris" in Place Bellevue for the best in traditional Basque cooking. There's also a Museum of Chocolate which it quite good and the Musee de la Mer is like Sea World only a helluva lot better.

The best beach is the Plage de Miramar although don't venture too far north or you'll stumble onto one of the biggest nudist beaches in the world, stretching 100 miles north to the Gironde.

Have fun!

WS, the naturist beach is partly why I am going. (It's what I do!). I have a Michelin map here but can't find it.
