I can't believe think Humprhy's is worth much. I don't rate him at all and I think he thinks he's a lot better than he actually is. He mostly goes completely unnoticed in the majority of games. He shows the odd glimpse but heh maybe he'll do better in league 2. If he's playing for us then lets certainly hope so.

still no announcement/confirmation of anything up here - but the other player Platt has now been announced after we signed him on a 2 year deal from Blackburn, beating off Bolton and our ex boss Evatt who wanted him on loan.

Roof going on the Holker Street end at present. Fanzone building being completed at the ether end of the ground.

Why are ex-non league teams always ahead of the curve? We all know that there's a chance we won't be able to attend matches next season and that we might have to watch remotely, but Barrow seem to be the only club preparing for that.

If you are selling an inferior product then you have to push it a lot harder.

The waves symbolise our fans waving to their relatives at high profile televised matches.

The shrimp symbolises the fresh seafood delivered by van to Leigh every morning and sold with the implication it is local.

The geodesic dome represents the regions rich architectural heritage
The "geodesic" dome is in bits at the Boots & Laces training ground ;-)

I'm not sure about the inferior product bit - we were dubbed Barracelona by the media last season because of our style of play,
Our squad is probably as strong if not stronger than quite a lot of L2 teams - although the squad size will be smaller. We've kept 10 of our squad from last season and generally a young hungry team - our average player age last season was just about the lowest in the National League. Our recruitment policy is a bit like Brentfords - nearly all based on stats - Moneyball as it was called when it was 1st tried out in baseball.
We've made 7 signings so far;-
Luke James from Hartlepool - has played in L1 and L2 with Hartlepool, Bradford City and FGR,
Tom Beddling - An Australian youth international who we got from Dumfermline - scored against Celtic at Celtic Park last season. Won't have any trouble settling at Barrow as he was actually born here and Emigrated to Australia as a child.
Mike Jones - ex Carlisle United. won the most 2nd balls of anyone in L2 last season and 4th on tackles won. The only old head we've signed so far at 32.
Matty Platt - signed for an undisclosed fee from Blackburn Rovers - was at Barrow on loan last season and the best CB in the National League last year. Chose Barrow over Bolton.
James Jones - CB signed from Altrincham (the National League North play off winners) for an undisclosed fee. Chose Barrow over FGR.
the 6th one is our wild card and could be useless or brilliant - but Callum Gribbin is a former Man Utd academy player - was nicknamed the English Messi whilst at United - but injuries etc meant he was released from there in 2019.
Bobby Burns - signed from Hearts in Scotland. NI U-21 International full back/midfielder. Had 1 year left on his Hearts contract - but looks like we got him on a free.
We're expecting maybe another 3 signing including a 2nd keeper and a centre forward with Humphry and Andy Cook (Mansfield) the 2 names that look most likely - Cook has played for Barrow in 4 spells before;- twice on loan and twice permanently.
