Half time. Southend edged the first half with Yearwood absolutely bossing the midfield. Fell behind to a set piece but had chances before that with Theo in thick of the action. He has looked dangerous drifting out on the right. Milligan has been quiet in middle but assured. Macca lively and most stuff has only broken down through Mantom who has lacked the killer touch.

Corey Jordan looks a threat at set pieces and snuck in at far post for the equaliser. Their keeper made a stunning save shortly after to deny Yearwood from ten yards.

Blackman looks OK. Got stuck in a few times but final ball again wanting. Goodship has got into good positions and had a few efforts blocked.

Expect changes at half time. Hope Yearwood gets a bit more time. Really looks fit, strong and quick.

Come on guys, results aren't even a consideration at this stage of pre season. It's all about increasing fitness, trying out a few moves, looking at possible new recruits and giving our local clubs a bit of kudos by allowing them to do the same!

I enjoy a good pre season friendly, but work usually gets in the way!

It's about not getting any injuries too hopefully !

I still love that away kit.

Yearwood was limping down the tunnel.

3-2

Always goals when we play Billericay.

Second half. Wholesale changes on about the hour and we looked very fluid up top as a result. Kiernan nodded us in front from a Hutchinson corner, before Humphrys let fly after Billericay napped at a corner. Could have had a few lore before they pulled one back about twenty from the end. Their keeper made some great saves especially from Kelman at the end.

Klass, Hutchinson and Kelman were great and you could see knew what each other were doing. Acquah went wide and did OK. Defensively we looked less solid in the second period. Only Billericay but plenty to look forward to especially the youngsters. Hutchinson and Kelman so good on the ball. Last season may have done them some good.

Bring on Weymouth

Hutch, Charlie certainly have something about them, full on desire to play and more.
Nathan and Dru are part of the same group of super young lads that are a pleasure to watch.
