This is pleasant and unexpected news. I had automatically assumed there was no chance of any money being spent in Jan!

Any gossip as to who might be on the radar and/or how much is in the kitty?

Bringing in loanees who could become permanent in the summer would be ideal. Don't want to bring in players desperately on long term deals who might not be good enough *cough* Robinson *cough*.

Send McCoulsky back to Bristol City and ask if Mo Eisa is available on loan. Only played 22 minutes of league action for them after scoring 23 goals last season in League Two.

Mo Eisa would be an excellent loan signing, he’s been wasted he was prolific at Cheltenham.

Strange that he didn't go out on loan again in August?. Although McCoulsky has overall been disappointing ( for what-ever reasons ), possibly City will think we didn't play to his strengths ( what-ever they are? ), & insist that 'if' they loaned us Eisa, he has to play in every game?.
All ifs & buts, but just supposing that scenario was offered, would CP bow to their demand?.

January is a notoriously bad window for getting quality. Part of what he says sounds like a gee up to some of our current crop.

January is bad for getting instant impacts - although Lee Barnard and Efe Sodje are notable exceptions.

It's good for getting longer term pieces - Mark Bentley and Luke Guttridge offered little in their first 6 months but were integral parts of promotions the following season.

Look for players whose contracts are expiring and who you would be targeting in the summer. See it as a way of jumping ahead of the summer's business.
