SOUTHEND United's on loan defender Ryan Inniss is unavailable for selection after pleading guilty to a criminal offence.

Surely there is some kind of responsibility of the player and parent club to inform Southend Utd of the pending court case when he joined, or did we know and gamble on him not actually being given a imprisonment. That's the part I suspect we'll never know!!! Poor all round and even more so when you consider his signing was our entire business on deadline day

Agree but surely our recruitment due dilligence should include asking about criminal offences and/or pending cases. As you suggest though, it might and we may have gambled .
