New Bobby Moore biography is out.

There's about 10 pages on Southend - he interviewed Alan Rogers, Pennyfather, Lampard Snr, and Brian Dear. Some points of interest:

Bobby Moore was recommended to Anton Johnson by Harry Redknapp, who was friends with Anton Johnson (!)
BM liked a drink (the same anecdote I wrote on here about BM turning up ****ed before a game is in here with a bit more detail)
John Adams and Vic interfered with team selection and BM let them - he was too nice
BM wanted Southend to play good football (don't we all) and the players couldn't manage it

To be honest, I'd heard 90% of the stuff in here before - but not the bit about Anton Johnson/Harry Redknapp...

Out of interest, how did he manage to write an autobiography given that he's been dead over 20 years?
