Echo News Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt angry ahead of trip of Southend United

The blokes a prize prick to be honest.

He just moans constantly

Yeah, I have heard a few things about the bloke as well. I get the impression he is the hairdryer type manager.

That is some of his more recent shenanigans. Basically said he would not criticise his young keeper while proceeding to criticise him somewhat.

Used to happen every Easter in the 70's.

Remember it well, usually local derbies, home to Gillingham on Good Friday, away to Brentford on Saturday then home to Gills for the return fixture on Easter Monday. Or something similar. Those three games that everyone had to play were often crucial in deciding promotion and relegation issues.

Those were the days when we scored 10 goals in 26 hours - 2 games Good Friday and Easter Saturday.

I really don’t know why he is moaning so much -5pm kick off - game over by 7pm - 2 hr drive back to Bolton - they can all be tucked up in bed by 10pm.

Maybe he has been given an ultimatum - get beaten by Southend and you’re sacked!

Not sure he’ll get back to Bolton by 9pm........even if he leaves at HT........

Whenever I see players or managers moaning about the amount of games they play, reminds me of an interview with Paul Warhurst (think it was him) on MOTD, where Sheffield Wednesday had something like 5 games in two weeks, when they asked him about it.

His response was (and I won't get this completely correct) something like, we train till midday, have the day off after a game - yeah it's a tough life!!

They've been like us though, a losing mentality to shed, new manager and a team in transition. I think they got rid of almost all of their senior players in the summer.
Difference is they appointed a manager in good time and were not under a transfer embargo so they were able to make some impressive signings in the summer and notably before salary cap restrictions came in.
They have got some excellent players for this level but things were never going to turn around for them straight away.
He probably a little lucky with fans not being present. Cant really see Bolton fans accepting mid table/lower half position...... their still time for them to get on run and make the play offs but hopefully after they played us :Thumbs up:
