Bolton Wanderers

BOLTON'S League One home game with Doncaster on Tuesday has been postponed, amid welfare concerns for their young squad.

Tough ****. Get your house in order and you won’t have to play the kids

Maybe we should have appealed to the EFL last season when everyone was injured

Getting away with murder if this game gets called off. I’ve seen Doncaster have denied all knowledge of it

What are the EFL playing at by allowing this to happen? Shaun Harvey and cohorts have b*llsed-up massively with their ongoing support for this poor excuse for a football club. Like Bury, they should have had initial games postponed. When their takeover was completed with funds in place and enough players under contract their fixtures could have then commenced.

The EFL have released a statement saying they knew nothing about this until Bolton announced it, wouldn't surprise me if this goes down as a forfeit.

Just like the 9 points they should have had deducted for forfeiting the Brentford game last year? Oh... wait...

Absolute farce!
What precedent is there for deducting 9 points for postponing a fixture without permission? The last time it happened was in the 1996/97 season and Middlesbrough were only deducted 3 points for pulling that stunt (the match itself was still played later in the season and ended up being a draw). The only other time in history a postponed match wasn't replayed was in 1974 where Exeter refused to play Scunthorpe, in that case the league fined Exeter and awarded Scunthorpe an automatic win.

Apologies, I was always under the impression it was a points deduction for not fulfilling a fixture!

I stand corrected! Although the situation is still a farce!
