COREY Jordan could join Southend United on loan from Bournemouth if he impresses with the Shrimpers in pre-season.

Disappointing that this is with an eye to a loan rather than a permanent move.

His lack of first team experience alone is likely to make him a significant downgrade on Taylor Moore who'd had a season in L2 and half a season in L1 prior to joining us last year. As a loan we endure the growing pains without benefiting from the eventual upside and the learning curve is at its steepest when they step into first team football for the first time.

True. Unless it's a loan with a view to a perm deal...

But didn't he only just sign a contract extension at the start of summer with B'mouth? I guess this is one reason why it isn't a permanent transfer option at this stage.

From pictures he doesn’t exactly look appearance wise like a League 1 centre half. How did he do at Billericay? Does he get stuck in?

A club like ours is always going to have to be very shrewd in the loan market. Bond alluded to this when he got the job full time. It pays to have some friends in high places and KB certainly has that!

Looks a bit on the skinny side. Is he gonna outmuscle some of the bigger centre halves, win the ball at corners? Need a big lump who can read the game and get to the ball first. Don't care if they hit it into row Z, just keep it away from our goal. You don't need ball-playing centre halves at this level.

He probably will after a year in our first team - by of course which time he'll be back at Bournemouth and be of no benefit to ourselves.

Did ok against Billericay, nothing more imo. Took his goal well though. Not the tallest for a CB.

OR

He could be a loan acquisition if we are not able to secure the services of Taylor Moore in a couple of weeks...

Or maybe both of them? Taylor Moore has some experience under his belt now, so he would be a good prospect next season if we could get him back, and Corey would also be a good addition, but maybe not a first choice?

I hope that we keep Kiernan in that midfield holding role, as he looked good there last season, and with the departure of Kightly we could now have a bit more flexibility.

Milligan has been brought in to do the job Kiernan was
