KEVIN Bond is keen to remain in charge of Southend United beyond the end of this season but is refusing to look beyond tomorrow’s clash at Fleetwood Town.

Makes a good point about being on the front foot.

At RH we were on the front foot for the first 45 v Doncaster and a few times when we were 3-0 down. Sadly there has been way to many games where it has been well below average and in the last few games non existent.

How are we supposed to interpret this?

Does it mean something equally throwaway and nonsensical such as taking things one match at a time or are there other implications?

Could Kevin Bond run off and join a cult, the priesthood or the French Foreign Legion if we fail to pick up three points tomorrow?

If so you have to question our due diligence procedures.

Sounds like he’s hedging his bets.

If we win our last 6 games then hell yeah, then maybe us fans agree he stays, but success isn’t always sustainable long term, CP is a prime example.

Let’s not get too excited and let the bloke have one game in charge at least. Anyone would like a job beyond six weeks... it pays bills.

If he keeps us up then he deserves a chance.

Yep. Good luck to him. It's a seemingly mission impossible.

If he keeps us in league 1 then he deserves a chance to build his own squad.

Whether he keeps us up or not i hope he will be judged on the type of football he wants the club to play ,yes hard i know with this set of players ,but it will be there for all to see what hes trying to accomplish, get behind him people ,who knows if Eddie Howes endorsement of him means anything then just maybe we have ourselves a good manager with tactical nous and ability to motivate even the laziest of players we have on our books.
