*sigh* Sums up our season. Lacking the cutting edge in the final third, and a ridiculous penalty decision let them in. 1 goal and 0 points in our last 4, even if we did deserve more tonight.

That performance showed why we aren’t further up the table. We controlled the play and had a host of good chances, but the fact we couldn’t find a way through speaks volumes. We couldn’t even make the most of a spot kick ffs.

Murphy looked poor. I don’t know if it’s ring rust or something else, but he certainly wasn’t on it tonight. Horrendous miss and very little else.

Noor also didn’t look up with the pace and was largely anonymous. He doesn’t seem to influence games the way we’d hoped, and only seems to show his class in fleeting moments. I’m worried he’s become/becoming a passenger.

Bridge was much improved with his crossing in he first half. We have been desperate for crosses to come in earlier, and it’s no surprise we looked at our most dangerous when this happened. Unfortunately, he didn’t keep it up in the second half, instead choosing to twist, turn, twist, turn, twist and turn once again.

Thought Kendale looked strong at the back and although it looked clumsy, I thought the Wood attacker threw himself to the ground.

The rest were all industrious without any real standouts.

It’s time for: Mooney to replace Noor in the Centre and Wreh/Cardwell to form a partnership.

Yet another game where we’ve looked the better team, but have came away with absolutely nothing.

Yes appalling park level refereeing again- but it’s standard for the division- all the more reason why you have to be able to score. The Southend nil affliction still hasn’t gone- it’s a chronic disease it appears…

We haven’t got a single goalscoring CM at the club other than Benton who presumably is not considered good enough…

Didn't we get an offer for Murphy? Does it still stand. So crap

It was never a penalty for them in a million years. Their goalie also had a worldie.

Until the umbongo is lifted we will just gently float down the league.

After years of paying players late who wants to sign or us anyway? That’s what Ron had never understood and that’s appearances

Ignoring the shooting that was a very good performance. Unfortunately you can't win matches if you don't score and we don't have a clue where the net is.

I don't know what the coaches are telling our players to do in front of goal but whatever it is it clearly doesn't work, Taylor trying to pass the ball when he had a clear sight of goal summed up our mentality.

We were impressive in many ways, dominating the game, making half a dozen good chances, limiting the Wood to only a couple of chances. They got a soft penalty and scored. We got a fairly soft penalty and Bridge fluffed it. Our finishing was non existent throughout the match. Murphy was poor, Cardwell OK, Fonguck poor, Wreh OK.

It's so frustrating. Entirely our own fault we didn't win that one.

Correct

These four games were a true test of where we stood this season. On the day of game one we lose our best player and commanding CB and from there we’ve gone onto lose all four games. I think even the most glass half empty of us expected a couple of points.

This season will fall apart now and it’s all down to one person. Weeks not months he said, well it’s been months and unfortunately it’ll be years at this level until we get an owner who can properly provide the backing this club needs over the course of the season. Let’s face it, the embargo will be cleared for the summer then we’ll hit our standard embargo mid-season and the same will happen again.

Just think what could have been.
