Tomorrow night's referee for our match at Bradford City will be Paul Tierney from Wigan, one of the League's younger officials.

If the players are tiring with both teams playing 120 mins midweek, so too might be the referee also having done 120 minutes at Crewe!

He is in his second season as a League referee and is apparently doing pretty well; he is part of the 7-man National League Talent Group of officials being groomed for future "stardom". He has never refereed either Southend or Bradford City before.

His card count is average.

Assisting him will be Phil Dermott from Cheshire and Wayne Grunill from Yorkshire with Paul Davison from Cleveland on 4th official duties.

It is not our luckiest of grounds with our win on our last appearance there (refereed by Trevor Kettle) being our first win in 14 attempts. Most of them finished 2-1.
