Glad I didn't do this earlier as the official has changed. No longer Gary Sutton but now Mark Brown from East Yorkshire.
In his first season, which doesn't seem to be going too badly with a couple of Championship appointments. He makes his first visit to Roots Hall having refereed Southend once before in the early season away defeat at Bury (one caution each).
In his profile he is asked who has been the biggest influence on his career. He replies with the usual trite comments about colleagues and then adds "also my ex-wife for moving out so I could concentrate on my football and not have to listen to her moaning all day and night!".
A slightly below average yellow card count, but an above average red card count (60 and 5 respectively from 23 games).
Carl Brook from East Sussex and John Farries from Oxford will be running the lines and Londoner, Ian Crouch, fresh from sending Julian Dicks to the stand in a Grays match last week, will be 4th official.
