Bramble and Gower

Whats the point in whipping balls in the box when neither of our strikers look to hit the box? Both (Gray and Eastwood) like to drop deep to recieve the ball and both like to pull out wide, therefore leaving the othe one in the box with two, normally taller, centre halfs.

We have to play to our strengths, which is passing and moving. We destroy teams like this, first half at home to Boston for example.

Are you having a laugh home to Boston October the eighth. Well thats going back some way to justify not playing with any width. Eastwood and Grey come deep because the service to them is total pants. If you want to go back to outplaying a team lets talk about home to Swansea cracking balls coming in from the wings result 4-2 or Swindon town in the ldv both our goals from out wide albeit the second was direct from a corner, but you cant get much wider then that.

The only goal I can remember coming from a cross in either of them games was Freddy debut goal from a Wayne Gray cross. Spinner scored with a header from a corner. Can't remember Freddy's second but his third he turned his man and shoot, it took a deflection but he was credited with it.

Against Swindon, Dudder's goal was from a superb pass by Maher inside the full back and centre half which Dudder's got on the end off, beat his man for pace and chipped it over the goalkeeper. Nicky's was direct from a corner.

Rochdale at home we battered without playing with much width. We passed the ball around quickly and stretched their backline. That was March 25th, not that long ago.

I'd love us to play with more width but our forwards don't look to hit the box, and the vast majoirty of League Two centre halfs will beat Freddy and Wayne it the air 9 times out of 10.

OK, second half against Rochdale at home, then... when Tes didn't play. That was as well as we've played all season. Rochdale were a pretty decent side, as their top-10 finish testified... and yet we comprehensively took them apart in the second half.

The architects of that: Maher, Gower and Eastwood. If all three are on song, we're more than a match for anyone in this division. Which is why Gower's potential injury is alarming...
