Why is it is important for a company to develop a strong brand identity?

please help or anyone that has an essay or something similar please share your ideas.

Easier to implement psychological pricing strategies, generic brands like Coca Cola and Hoover Benefit the company greatly, Consumers more likely to impulse buy from a recognised and trusted brand, Less need for marketing and advertising as the brand promotes itself.

This is only Alevel standard, so its probably useless...

Trust is a huge thing. I work for Ladbrokes and we can play on our name in the UK as we're a long established business. People know that if they bet with us, their money is safe and they'll get paid out.

However, we have found it more difficult to establish ourselves overseas as our brand has no history in other countries - Turkey is a good example.

Bloody obvious really, but it's always good to cite lots of examples to help demonstrate your point.
